Some of His Favorite Things

24 May

This is for James, so that someday, when he is all grown up, which is in sixty-seven, two, and one-hundred days, he can look back and know what some of his favorite things were.

Favorite Foods:
Chicken nuggets with barbecue sauce
Apple sauce
Broccoli –  seriously, when broccoli is on the menu, he usually shouts yummy and performs a gleeful jig.
Cheesy bread from Sahara’s Pizza
Goldfish crackers mixed with Cheerios and raisins

Favorite TV:
Clone Wars
Wipe Out
American Idol
River Monsters
Sid the Science Kid
He Man- I didn’t realize that He Man, master of the universe, favors pink leotards with the tummy cut out. What is that all about, I wonder?

Favorite Movies:
Star Wars- all of ’em
How to Train Your Dragon
Kung Fu Panda

Favorite Game:
Lego Star Wars- the kid can play for hours

Favorite Activities:
Drawing – mostly plans for robots and their accessories
Turning is drawings into actual models with Dad in the shop
Playing at the park

Favorite Toys:
Legos, especially the Lego Star Wars sets
Leapster Explorer
Mom’s Window’s 7 Phone

Favorite Animals:

Favorite Holiday:

Favorite Music:
This is a tough one. He listens to generic piano melodies every night at bedtime. He likes Jazz, classical guitar, and chamber music.
Rock in general makes him stand up on the couch and shake his money maker, but no clear favorite has emerged.
I thought Lady GaGa might be in the running but she’s a girl and that makes her music for girls-yuck!

Misc. Favs
Vans with flames on the toes, which were hand-me-downs from his cousin Marshall
His cousin Marshall
G- his best friend
His doggy blanket, which he has been calling his doggy blanket since he was three, and to my great distress just realized it is in fact covered with cats not dogs.

There you go son- let’s see how your tastes change in the coming years.

I highly recommend adding some description to things like TV shows, or movies besides Star Wars. I know when my sister and I talk about stuff from 40 years ago, we aren’t always able to match names to games, movies, or shows that we liked.

Smart, get it all in writing. I need to start writing stuff down too, I’m terrible. I can’t even remember stuff from a week ago, there is no way I’ll remember it in 20 years.

I’m going to check into He Man now….
